How do I add a MySQL/PostgreSQL database in CPanel?
*This article assumes you are already logged into CPanel*
Note: Because the method for adding a MySQL and PostgreSQL database is essentially the same this article will apply to both catagories.
Adding a MySQL database: In the 3rd row, 3rd to the right you will see an icon labeled as MySQL Databases. Click on it.
This will take you to a new page where you will see:
DB
Username
Password
Host
In the box marked as DB, this is where you will enter the name of the database. Do so now and click on the button labeled as Add DB. The database will then be
created.
Now, in the Username and Password boxes enter the username and password which will be used for to access the MySQL database. Once you have done so, click on
the button labeled as Add User.
In the Host box, if the MySQL server is on the same server then type in localhost and click on the button labeled as Add Host. If it isn't, then enter the
IP/server name instead.
You now have a MySQL database and a user. So now you must add the user to the database in order to access it. At the top of the page there are 2 boxes across
from each other. One will have the username in it and the other has the MySQL database name in it. If they are not already selected, click the drop down box and select your user and/or MySQL
database. Once you have done this click on the button labeled as Add User to Db.
The user is now added to the database and you can start using it.
Adding a PostgreSQL database: In the 3rd row, 4th icon to the right you will see an icon labeled as PostgreSQL Databases. Click on it.
This will take you to a new page where you will see:

How do I use the chat in CPanel?
*This article assumes you are already logged into CPanel*
In the 5th row, 4th to the right there is an icon labeled as Chatroom. Click on it.
On this page you will see the following:
Nick Name
Several lines of code
A URL link for a java chat
If you wish to immediatly enter the chat, enter a nickname in the box on the top of the page and click the button labeled as Enter Chat.
Should you desire to embed the chat into a webpage copy the lines of code into any of your webpages. Upon going to that page from then on you will be able to
access the chat.
If you want a java chat instead use the URL listed at the bottom of the page and insert a link to it anywhere on your website.
Doing any of the above will allow you to use the chat feature in CPanel.
How do I install PhpMyChat in CPanel?
*This article assumes you are already logged into CPanel*
In the 5th row, 5th to the right there is an icon labeled as PhpMyChat. Click on it.
On this page you will see several boxes labeled as:
Install chatroom at this url:
Admin Username:
Admin Password:
For the top box, enter the directory where the chatroom will be installed. For example: http://domain.com/chat
Enter the admin username and password in the below boxes. These will be used for all administrative functions in the chat room.
Once you have done this click on the button labeled as Install. The installation of your chatroom will ensue and you will be taken to a new page telling you
that it has been created.
For each chatroom you install you will use 1 MySQL database.
How do I install the bulletin board in CPanel?
*This article assumes you are already logged into CPanel*
In the 6th row, 1st to the left there is an icon labeled as Bulletin Board. Click on it.
On this page you will see an empty box. Enter the directory where the bulletin board will be installed. Once you have done so you will be taken to a new page
where the installation will ensue.
Installing the bulletin board will use 1 MySQL database.
How do I access the pre-installed CGI scripts in CPanel?
*This article assumes you are already logged into CPanel*
In the 6th row, 2nd to the right there is an icon labeled as CGI Center. Click on it.
On this page there is a list of pre-installed scripts. You may choose any of them by clicking on the name of the script.
How do I view any extra scripts loaded into CPanel?
*This article assumes you are already logged into CPanel*
In the 6th row, 3rd to the right there is an icon labeled as Scripts Library. Click on it.
On this page you will see any extra scripts that are ready for installation. By clicking on the name it will take you to the setup page. The default is
Invisionboard.
On the setup page for Invisionboard you must enter the administrator username and password followed by the directory where it will be installed. Lastly, click
on the button labeled as Install and the setup process will ensue.
The forum will then be setup and ready to be used.
How do I install the agora shopping cart in CPanel?
*This article assumes you are already logged into CPanel*
In the 6th row, 4th icon to the right there is an icon labeled as Agora Shopping Cart. Click on it.
On this page you will see several boxes labeled as:
Admin User:
Admin Password:
Install the cart at this URL:
Enter the admin username and password which you will use to login to the cart and manage the settings. Then, enter the directory in the 3rd box where the
shopping cart will be installed. Once you have done so click on the button labeled as Install.
This will take you to a new page where your cart will be installed and then you'll be immediatly able to addon to it and modify it's settings.
